Full Dentures
Full dentures offer a complete replacement for your natural teeth, greatly boosting your ability to chew and speak if you have suffered significant tooth loss. They also help to restore your facial structure, which may have been altered because of missing teeth. Best of all, full upper and lower dentures boost your confidence and give you back your perfect smile.
At Sea Breeze Dentistry, we use Suction Assisted Lower Dentures, which mould to the natural shape of your oral cavity and are kept in place via a suction mechanism. In comparison to implants, these full dentures are more affordable while offering greater stability and comfort. We check your capability with suction dentures at your initial consultation.

What is the Procedure for Receiving Full Dentures?
When you first contact us here at Sea Breeze Dentistry, we arrange an initial consultation for you and one of our denture specialists. During this meeting we discuss your dental condition and what you are hoping to receive, whether that is just a full upper denture or complete dentures. We then take an x-ray of your face to check the condition of your bones to determine if there will be any future challenges based on your facial structure.
After we have analysed the report, we begin the process of creating the full upper and lower dentures. Your dentist takes an impression of your teeth to create a mould that perfectly fits the unique shape of your mouth. From there, we arrange frequent visits to run further tests before beginning the final procedure of placing the false teeth within your mouth on the third or fourth visit.

How Are Full Upper Denture and Lower Dentures Created?
After the impression of your mouth and teeth is taken, a custom tray is created to enhance the quality and fit of all future impressions. We design these models to accurately represent the anatomy of your jaw. When we sculpt teeth based on your likeness, we assure that they are set in the manner that provides the best form and function for you.
Wax is then added around the teeth to build contours, which are used to support your facial muscles while camouflaging the appearance of your dentures. Once you have approved of your new dentures, we begin a process called ‘flasking’ to leave the denture mould ready to be filled with acrylic. Once the acrylic has been mixed, packed, and cured under pressure, the dentures are hand finished and polished to be ready for you.
How Long Does It Take to Adapt to Upper and Lower Dentures?
When you invest in a full upper denture or a complete set, it can take a little bit of time to become fully adjusted to your new teeth. While they feel differently at first, they will soon feel like a natural extension of yourself as you become accustomed to chewing and speaking with them. We are able to make adjustments over time to ensure your new full upper and lower dentures are the perfect fit.
