What is a Flexible Denture
Similar to partial dentures, Flexible dentures are created to fill the gaps for patients who are missing some but not all teeth as they rely on existing natural teeth for anchorage. Unlike the rigid acrylic of traditional dentures, flexible dentures are made from a much thinner thermoplastic.
Why Do We Need to Have Flexible Dentures
Flexible dentures can accommodate many patients whom for varying reasons are unable or reluctant to try more traditional methods. Such as;
- Those who suffer from contact allergies to material common in other denture forms
- Those with the inability to open their mouth wide enough to accommodate bulkier denture options.
- Patients who struggle with irregularities of their mouth form.
Patients who struggle with irregularities of their mouth form.
- Lightweight comfort they can offer.
- Given their minimal structure they are beneficial for patients who are early into their prosthetic journey, looking for dentures that are natural in appearance.
- Easy to adjust too and less likely to break.
